In The Community

Investing in charitable projects and the local community is an important part of Impact Holdings (UK) Plc's strategy. We stongly believe in contributing to projects and charities our staff feel is important to them. Below are some examples of our recent involvement in the community.

Beaujolais Run 2009

On Tuesday 17th November 2009, a bunch of local wine lovers including Impact's own David Hughes, embarked on a 1,400 mile round trip to France to bring back the Beaujolais and help raise funds for the new Day Care Centre for Hoylake Cottage - a charitable trust that offers 24 hour nursing, respite and day care for older people and those with dementia across the Wirral.

Three teams set off in the early hours of the morning and drove to Beaune, via the Eurotunnel and returned, late evening, having brought back the Beaujolais!

In total they raised £15,000 including a donation from Impact Holdings.

Wasps win the Cup!

Impact has sponsored a local Under 13 football team, the “West Kirby Wasps” by providing their kit for two seasons. Their season culminated in victory in the 2009/10 League Cup final 3-2 as well as winning the Wirral 7-A-Side Tournament in which they played 10 matches and did not even concede a single goal in any of the matches.

Bike Events 2010

Lee-Sara (Head of Compliance & Credit Risk) and Nella, (Accounts Clerk) along with three other friends have taken it upon themselves to raise £2000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer by participating in three organised charity cycles, covering almost 200 miles in total. The events take place in May, July and September 2010 – and with none of the girls being experienced cyclists, it is a big goal! The team are extremely grateful for the sponsorship support from Impact, especially for their branded pink vest contribution – they certainly stand out in the crowds and are often complimented on their appearance!

London Marathon 2010

On April 25th 2010 our IT Manager Andy ran his second London Marathon in a time of 3h:37m. He was running for MENCAP, a charity for those with learning disabilites such as Downs Syndrome. He was looking to raise £1600 and Impact was happy to help him reach his target. Would he do it again - "Definitely, and its contributions from companies like Impact that make it worthwhile" he said.
